The upcoming film “Mariyaan” directed by Bharat Bala is a Tamil Thriller Film, in which actor Dhanush is playing the role named Mariyaan and Parvathi Menon as Panimalar.It is reported that Bharat Bala and Dhanush met each other in NewDelhi during National Award Function. The Director had narrated him a story which is accepted by the Son-in-law of Superstar Rajinikanth.

This film is about about the common man who has kidnapped to the unknown place and the journey of the man with the hopes to reach his home and lead a better life.This is the real incident happened during 2008, read by the director in the newspaper. The character played by the actor Dhanush is physically strong and economically week man from a village. Parvathi Menon described her role as something unusual and multi-layered which impressed her to act in that role.

The first schedule of the film began in Namibia and the final schedule took place at Nagercoil. The Filming was also took place in the village close to Kanyakumari. Dhanush underwent a special Ocean Swimming Course to Swim 50feets underwater. The underwater scene is filmed at Andaman.

The soundtrack composed by A.R.Rahman received highly positive reviews from critics. We have Dhanush and A.R.Rahman coming together for the first time. The thing which makes the album so special is the combination of Bharat Bala and A.R.Rahman because Bharat Bala is the brain behind the Famous Patriotic album composed by ARR. This movie is produced by Venu Ravichandran, then cinematography and editing done by Marc koninckx and Vivek Harshan respectively. The budget is 30crores and the movie is proposed to release on July 19,2013.
